1. Drivers
Drivers must be :
- Aged between 25 and 70
- Have held a full driving licence for at least 3 years
- Have unendorsed licences (except for minor speeding or parking offences)*
Terms :
- Production of all drivers' licences required on day of departure
- Drivers are personally liable for all legal penalties (eg parking tickets) which are incurred during the period of hire.
- Maximum of 3 drivers per hire
- Drivers must produce 2 separate means of identification (eg passport, utility bill, credit card)
*In some cases we will incur additional charges if the drivers to be insured have traffic convictions, are using non-UK driving licences or are in a high risk occupation. These charges will be passed onto the customers.
2. Insurance
Fully comprehensive vehicle insurance is provided. The hirer is responsible for the insurance excess of £750. In the event of any damage to the either the vehicle or third party property, the hirer will be liable for the first £750. The hirer will also be fully liable for replacement or repair of windows or tyre damage.
3. Personal Property
The hirers personal property is not covered by the insurance and it is recommended that hirers take out personal travel and cancellation insurance.
4. Security Deposit
A security deposit of £750 is due 7 days before the day of collection. This security deposit will be refunded in full subject to the vehicle being returned in a clean, undamaged and complete condition. The toilet should be clean and empty or a £50 fee will be incurred. The vehicle will be thoroughly inspected.
The deposit will be refunded within 7 days.
5. Ireland Travel
There is an additional charge of £60 per week for Ireland Travel to cover Irish roadside assistance
6. Cancellation Charges
COVID-19 POLICY UPDATE
All new bookings will be subject to our new COVID policy.
We request a £250 non refundable deposit for all bookings.
We are reducing the time period for the final payment down to 4 weeks to ensure that you are in a better position to establish if your trip will go ahead.
If the Scottish Government impose restrictions forcing us to close, we will offer either free date changes or a credit voucher.
If travel restrictions are in place where you are travelling from - for the period of your holiday then we will offer free date changes.
- Up to 8 weeks = Booking Deposit
- 6 to 8 weeks = 50% of total hire charge
- 4 to 6 weeks = 75% of total hire charge
- 0 to 4 weeks or No show = 100% of total hire charge
7. Payment
Availability is on a request and confirm basis at the time of reservation. It is only binding after it has been confirmed by Deeside Motorhomes and a booking deposit of £250 has been received. Settlement of the remaining balance will be due 4 weeks prior to departure. Deeside Motorhomes reserves the right to cancel the booing if payment is not received by 4 weeks prior to departure date.
For late bookings (less than 4 weeks prior to departure) the full hire price is payable on booking
8. Collection and Returns
Please allow 1 hour for the hand over at the depot - to demonstrate the vehicle to you and complete documentation. Please allow for same on your return
The normal hire period is on a weekly basis from Friday to Friday. The motorhome is available to be collected from 3pm on the day of departure and should be returned no later than 10am on the last day of hire.
Shorter hire periods are available outwith the summer months.
There will be a penalty charge of £50 per hour for vehicles that are returned late and the hirer will not be covered by our insurance.
You can arrange with us to be uplifted from Aberdeen. A small fee will be charged for this service.
9. Breakdown/Accident
In the event of a breakdown or accident all vehicles are covered by RAC breakdown and recovery service. Please inform us immediately by telephone on 07765003658 of any incidents. Please get name and addresses and car numbers of any witnesses in the event of an accident. Damage can often occur whilst reversing so please ask someone to guide you.
10. Fuel/Oil/Gas/Tyres
The vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and have to be returned full. There is unlimited mileage. The engine oil, water levels, and tyre pressures have to be checked at least once in your hire week. The hirer is also responsible for repair of punctured and damaged tyres.
The vehicle is supplied with 2 bottles of gas with at least one full, subsequent refills are the responsibility of the hirer who should ensure that refilled bottles are the same size and fitting returned with the vehicle.
11. Extras
The following items can be supplied to enhance your holiday if required

12. Liability
If the vehicle or equipment fail due to our negligence which deprives you of complete use of the vehicle we are limited to the refund of any rental charges for days lost. You are liable for any fines or costs through violation of traffic laws or regulations. The vehicles shall not be used for unlawful purposes at any time.
13. Pets
We are able to allow you take your dog with you on your holidays in our Angus motorhome. If additional cleaning is required there will be a charge of £50. There is a limit of 2 dogs and we ask that you respect our motorhome and do not allow them on any of the furniture.
14. Smoking
All our vehicles are strictly non smoking. If there is any evidence of smoking there will be a charge of £250.
15. Additional charges
Extra charges that may be deducted from security deposit include:
- Refuelling = £20 plus cost of fuel
- Chemical toilet disposal = £50
- Waste water disposal = £50
- Extra cleaning = £50
- Pet hair removal = £50
- Damage = cost of repair
- Accident = £750 to cover insurance excess
- Windscreen damage = cost of replacement
- Tyre damage = cost of replacement and associated costs
- Smoking = £250
- Late return charge = £50 per hour
